Evelyn has hit some pretty big milestones this past month!
She crawls All over the place now, and has figured out that she can follow me when I walk away from her.
Because of her new level of mobility, we have to keep the bathroom and master bedroom doors shut so she doesn't get into things she shouldn't.
She can also pull herself up to stand, and is actually getting really good at it. When she first figured out how to get up, she would do it NONSTOP. I hated it because she would pull herself up in her crib whenever I would put her down, and she hadn't figured out how to get back down yet so she would either scream because she was stuck or because she would fall and smack her face. She still pulls herself up quite often, but has figured out how to sit back down after she gets up so it's not as frustrating as it was (for everyone).
She learned how to turn the tv on and off and how to open the door of the entertainment center where the dvds are.
She LOVES her books! She loves to have us read to her, so I've started including story time in her bedtime routing. I love snuggling with her and reading to her. :)
She is still wearing size 3 diapers.
She says "mama"!!! Although she mostly only says it when she's hungry, haha.
She loves food! She would snack all day if I let her. And she is pretty adventurous in the foods she has been trying and liking! For example.. Ben let her gnaw on a raw onion the other night and.. she loved it! She really likes grapefruit too, and pickles. I wish we had the means right now to buy more baby friendly food so she could try more stuff! However, she isn't particularly fond of her meat baby food. She will take a few bites but then I have to mix in veggies or fruit to get her to eat it. And she definitely likes fruit more than she likes veggies.
She now eats three meals of solid foods a day.
She is wearing 6-9 month clothes mostly, although I put her in a pair of 12 month jammies the other night and they were kind of snug on her!
She kicks her legs constantly. It seems like they never stop!
She likes to get up on her knees and bounce up and down. It's pretty dang cute!
When she gets excited, she holds her hands out in front of her and shakes them up and down, which in turn makes her head bobble. She learned this little act from her friend Rachel, her sitter's 10 month old daughter.
She is learning and growing so much I can hardly stand it! Sometimes I look back at the pictures we took when she was brand new, and marvel at how much she has changed in seven short months. I am so grateful that she is in our family, and I am so grateful that I get to spend each day with her. Being a mom is truly the best!
