36 Weeks

All About Baby
Length: 18.75 inches
Weight: 5.75 pounds
Fruit/Veggie Comparison: crenshaw melon
Gender: Girl!
Big Developments: just getting more plump and ready to join the outside world!

All About Momma
How far along? 36 Weeks
Total weight gain: 34 pounds
Maternity clothes? I'm still loving my skirts that I made, and a pair of shorts I got in the bag of hand me down maternity clothes.
Stretch marks? I think I found a couple on my hips!
Sleep: I still have to do the roll from side to side thing, but lately even that doesn't quite do the trick. This little girl is so wiggly when it comes time for bed that she keeps me up longer than usual!
Best moment these two weeks: This might sound dumb, but I set up the Wii all by myself! Granted, its sprawled on the floor still and there are wires and cords everywhere, but I hooked it up and made it work! :)
Miss Anything? Sleeping on my tummy, being able to tie my own shoes (thanks Ben for helping me!), and breathing like a normal person.
Movement: Crazy lots! Especially at bedtime.
Food cravings: My appetite came back a little, as shown by the four pounds I gained the past two weeks. Ha. I did have a craving for a root beer float last week.. so I indulged. :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope! Thank goodness.
Labor signs: just some contractions here and there. I have more on days when I walk around lots.. but the past few days I've been a bum and not done much.
Dilation/Effacement: Today was the first time that the Dr. checked my cervix! And I am dilated to  1cm and effaced 90%!
Symptoms: Acid reflux/heartburn. The other day I couldn't eat anything without feeling awful.
Belly button in or out? I'm gonna say that it's finally out. Not very far, but it's definitely not an innie any more.
Wedding ring on or off? Officially off. The last time I wore it was at church on Sunday and it was just plain uncomfortable.
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly happy! Except when I can't get comfortable.
Looking forward to: Baby's due date getting so close! Next week we are hopefully going to go to the Hogle Zoo on July 4th! I haven't been to the zoo in forever, I can't wait!

34 Weeks

All About Baby
Length:  17.75 inches
Weight: 4.75-5 pounds
Fruit/Veggie Comparison: average cantaloupe
Gender: Girl!
Big Developments: The vernix protecting baby is getting thicker, and lungs are getting stronger!

All About Momma
How far along? 34 Weeks
Total weight gain: 30 pounds (I didn't gain any weight the past two weeks! Shocking!)
Maternity clothes? I'm still loving my skirts that I made, and a pair of shorts I got in the bag of hand me down maternity clothes
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: So, I have to lay on my left side for a few minutes until it starts to get uncomfortable. Then I roll over to my right side until it gets uncomfortable. Then I roll back to my left side and I'm good. Weird, I know. :)
Best moment these two weeks: Ben got a job! He's a cart attendant at Sam's Club (not the most glamorous, but we're grateful for anything). And my interview went really well! They basically said I have the job. :)
Miss Anything? Sleeping on my tummy, being able to tie my own shoes (thanks Ben for helping me!), and breathing like a normal person.
Movement: Hiccoughs are still pretty frequent, and she's getting so cramped in there that I can look at my stomach and see the tiniest movements she makes that aren't strong enough to feel. But I can still feel plenty!
Food cravings: Not much, I've actually lost some of my appetite. I haven't been hungry around dinner time for the past week or so, but I eat anyway because I know I need to. :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope! Thank goodness.
Labor signs: just some Braxton Hicks here and there.
Symptoms: Sciatica! I had it before I got pregnant, but it's getting mucho worse lately.
Belly button in or out? I'm gonna say that it's finally out. Not very far, but it's definitely not an innie any more.
Wedding ring on or off? On during the day, but I get really warm at night and my hands swell up a little so I take my rings off when I go to bed.
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly happy! Except when I can't get comfortable
Looking forward to: Baby's due date getting so close! Also, hopefully being able to go buy the things we still needs before she gets here.. because Ben has a job! :)

Our New Home

So I've been waiting to do a tour of our apartment because I wanted everything to be put away, and for everything to be nice and clean and organized. But then I realized that this would probably never happen all at the same time and that if I waited too much longer I would never get this post done. So here is our mostly put together, kinda clean, cute little Logan apartment. :)

Our building. Can you guess which apartment is ours?

The yard!
It doesn't look like a whole lot in the picture, but the yard to the side of the building is huge! I love taking a blanket and a book outside, sitting in the shade of the tree, and reading. :)

Our little garden
So there are planter boxes in front of the building, which are probably meant more for flowers, but we are using ours to grow veggies! We have about six different kinds of lettuce sprouting, some peas, onions, and tomatoes. And we also have two flower plants. :)

Our Front Door!
I love that we have a screen door! It means we can have the door open almost all day long to let in the breeze and listen to the birds. Our apartment doesn't have cooling of any kind, but being in the basement means that our apartment stays cool almost all day.. even with the door and the windows open.
We are number 4 :)

The view from the front door.
We've got our shoe rack, a bunch of empty boxes, a bookshelf, and an awesome storage closet in the "entryway."
In the dungeon...
This is what the inside of the storage closet looks like.. for now. It needs some serious organizing. But it holds a ton of stuff! Which we are really grateful for, because it means that the second bedroom is solely dedicated to baby girl.
Living Room Area

Decorations, yay!
I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty proud of this photo arrangement. I feel like it's something you'd see on Pinterest and be inspired by it. ;)

Office Area
Okay, so our front room is HUGE. The "living room area" and "office area" are in the same room. It's that big. And that's a blessing, for a couple of reasons. First, again it lets the second bedroom be baby girl's room instead of an office, and we have enough room for the futon ( where company will sleep when they stay, aka when my mom comes to visit and help out after the baby is born). And third, this arrangement helps Ben focus better when he's doing his homework, because he works best in open spaces.

The view of the kitchen from the front room!
So please ignore the dirty counters and dishes and you gaze upon this picture. We had friends from the ward over for dinner last night and I haven't gotten around to cleaning up yet. :) I love our kitchen, mostly because it's three thousand times bigger than our previous one. We actually have usable cupboards and countertop space!
The table

The fridge. Oh, and what does this door lead to..?

THE LAUNDRY ROOM!!!
Yep, that's right everyone, we have a laundry room! Where we can do our own laundry, at home! This was a huge bonus for me when we were apartment hunting. Because goodness knows I wasn't about to drag a buttload of baby clothes to a laundromat three times a week.
More laundry room

Our hallway!
Don't ask me why, but I was also pretty excited to have an actual hallway. :)

Bathroom, with counter space!
Okay, so the first door on the left is our bathroom. It has about ten times the counter space that our last bathroom did, and we actually have drawers!

Baby girl's room
The second door on the left is the nursery. It's nowhere near being done and put together, but I have it generally set up the way I'd like it.

The big baby gear.

Closet and cabinet.

The one room we won't be seeing during this tour is the master bedroom. That's because it's a total disaster. I know, it's hard to believe that it's anything worse than the kitchen, but I promise it is. This is mainly because Ben doesn't have a dresser so his clothes are overflowing from his suitcases. And there are boxes still waiting to be unpacked and it's just a mess.

But other than that, this is our lovely new home! We are loving Logan so much already (although my opinion of things may change slightly when the cold weather comes), and are so happy with our new home, ward, neighbors, and friends!

Fishing.. The First of (Hopefully) Many Trips

The other weekend, Ben and I drove up to Hyrum Reservoir to do a little fishing! We left bright and early, and spent the whole morning at the reservoir before eating our lunch and heading home.

Ben has a 365 day license, but I didn't have one. So we just picked up a one-day license for me for now.

We weren't getting any bites at the spot we were at, but there was a couple just a few yards from us who were reeling them in one after another! Eventually they left, and we stole their spot! Not long after we got settled and got our rods in the water, I got a bite! I caught a 12" rainbow trout. And I was so excited!! We stayed for a while longer to see if Ben could get something, but no such luck. On our way home, Ben made a comment about paying eight dollars for one fish. But I said, "At least we paid eight bucks for one fish instead of eight bucks for no fish!" He agreed with me after that, haha. :) We are going to go fishing again this Saturday, June 8th, because it's free fishing day! You don't have to have a license to fish. I'm really excited! I hope I catch another fish, but I hope Ben catches one more. :)

Baby Shower!

On May 17, my mom and my dear friend Natalie threw a baby shower for me in St. George! We moved up here to Logan on the 11th, but we did the shower on the 17th because Ben had to be back down south for the final Southwest Symphony Orchestra concert at the OC Tanner in Springdale, and his cousin Preston was getting married that Saturday. So it was a busy weekend, but lots of fun!

The shower was absolutely perfect, and I had so much fun! Mom and Natalie put so much work into everything! I have a few pictures, and hopefully I'll be getting more from Natalie soon. :)

There were so many adorable and delicious treats!! I'm just sad I didn't get to eat more of them.. :)

Baby Girl and I received so many wonderful and generous gifts, and each one will be a blessing to have once she is here!

Mom came up with so many fun games to play! For this one, you had to guess how much each item costs. I think the candy bar game was my favorite,  though. It was a blast!

So cute!

Me, Danielle, Semaya, and Lexi! We all kind of matched!

Silly cousins. :) Jayden made a wedding dress out of one of the table cloths when we were cleaning up .

I honestly had so much fun at the shower, and it was so awesome to be able to see so many of my friends and family members there. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful people in my life!
